Business Administration/Management
Associate in Specialized Business Degree
18 months (day program); 24 months (evening program)
This program is designed to provide the knowledge and skills for graduates to seek entry-level employment opportunities in business, in the fields of accounting, human resources, and management. The Business Administration Management degree program will prepare the student for entry-level positions in the financial and business community.
An applied approach is utilized throughout this degree program to learn topics such as accounting, statistics, corporate accounting, and money and banking.
Course work includes hands-on training with computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheet development, compensation and benefits, taxes and database management.
Graduates of this program will be trained for a career in many business and management professions, such as: A Department Manager, Marketing Manager, Sales, Retail, Small Business Management, or Office Supervisor.
Graduates of this program will also be trained for a career in several accounting professions such as: Entry-Level Accountant, Billing Clerk, Statistician, Payroll Clerk, Account/Finance Manager, Bank Teller, and Income Tax Clerk.
The successful graduate may also wish to pursue human resource management positions in the following areas: Claims Supervisor, Human Resource Management, Payroll Examiner, Personnel Arbitrator or Personnel Clerks.
In this program, students will benefit from in-depth studies and hands-on involvement within the school and in the outside community, evolving business theories and contemporary management problems. Students will learn to manage creatively and effectively in the current business environment, and also gain effective communication skills and working knowledge of local business practices.
Students receive practical, real world training from experienced, seasoned professionals who have worked in the public and private business sector. Students will learn well-rounded theory, practice, and hands-on approach to accounting, human resource and management concepts, research findings, case studies, local businesses, and problem-solving techniques.
