Criminal Justice
Associate in Specialized Business Degree
18 months (day program); 24 months (evening program)
In this program, students will learn both the theory and skill applications in the Criminal Justice field, in preparation for entry-level careers in police, courts, security and corrections. Students will take course work to learn how to interpret crime statistics, write criminal justice reports, interpret criminal evidence, and work in the criminal justice system.
Graduates of the Criminal Justice program will be able to seek entry-level employment in law enforcement and security occupations, such as:
BTI's Criminal Justice program is relevant to today's law enforcement and security. Students will learn court procedures in prosecuting, defending and preparing a criminal case from arrest through pleadings, motion practice and discovery to sentencing, appeal and expungement. Course work will cover criminology, criminal investigations, terrorism, juvenile delinquency, airport security, and security issues.
